Benjamin Chafee

Program Director

Hailing from Saunderstown, RI, Ben has coached every level of sailing at various programs over the last 14 years before landing at UVM. Ben brings his experience as a fundraiser, recruiter, fiberglass technician, off-shore and inshore sailor, and race coach to the UVM team. He is excited to get out on the water and lead the next chapter of Catamount Sailing.

Emma Janson

Assistant Coach

As a 2019 UVM Sailing Alumna, Emma brings both a passion for Vermont Sailing and a breadth of sailing knowledge. Emma grew up in Darien, CT.

Justin Assad

Assistant Coach

Justin has coached every level of sailing at various programs; He graduated from Colombia University and later lead the UVM sailing team from 2003-2010, before taking a job as the head coach at Dartmouth. We are super stoked to have Justin back with us!
